Riverhead is one of the few towns in Suffolk County that has chosen to opt into the retail sale of marijuana. Riverhead's regulations state the latest that retail establishments can sell cannabis products is 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday for sales at on-site consumption sites. Riverhead is one of four towns, all in Suffolk County, that opted into marijuana sales.
Small amounts of marijuana possession are legal in New York.
Medical marijuana is legal in New York State, and patients with qualifying medical conditions can obtain a medical marijuana card to access and use medical cannabis products. Registered patients can purchase cannabis from licensed dispensaries.
Since laws can change, I recommend checking the official websites of the New York State government, specifically the New York State Department of Health and the New York State Legislature, or consulting with an experienced Criminal Lawyer in Riverhead who is familiar with marijuana cannabis laws and regulations in the Town of Riverhead. It is also important to be aware of the laws as they apply to Driving While Impaired by Drugs such as cannabis or marijuana in Riverhead, New York.
